I'll start by admitting I am not a regular in takeaways so maybe I'm just not in the loop.
Yesterday I spent the entire day painting bedrooms in my house. By 6 o'clock I was starving, so I decided to go to my local Chinese. I ordered and went to pay until she said 'cash only'. No problem, I'll walk 5 minutes to my local atm (only one in my village).
When I got there, you guessed it, out of service. I asked the staff could they give cash back and it was a firm no. So I headed home to loot the house and could not find even one euro. 20 minutes had passed at this stage and I knew my food would be ready and getting cold.
I contemplated just abandoning it and going to a nearby town to get money and food until I remembered I had some cash in my bike for emergencies when I am out cycling.
I finally got back to a surprised girl at the desk who greeted me with a friendly smile and commenting 'you're back' as if she wasn't expecting me. 35 minutes after I ordered I get my barely warm food and get home to a mediocre spice bag.
Why cant they just accept card?!
